Adnan Yilmaz is a Lecturer and the Director of the TESOL programmes at the University of Stirling in the UK. Before his employment at Stirling, Dr. Yilmaz worked at Sinop University and Dicle University in Türkiye and the University of Arizona in the United States where he also received his doctoral degree. His research interests include language teacher education, intercultural communication, social justice language education, and educational technologies. He has published in Computers and Education, the Reading Matrix, Contemporary Educational Technology, and Springer.
Deniz Ortaçtepe Hart is a Lecturer in the TESOL programmes at the University of Glasgow. Before coming to Glasgow, Dr. Ortactepe Hart worked at the University of Leeds (UK), Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (USA) and Bilkent University (Türkiye). Her research interests are second language socialization, intercultural pragmatics, sociolinguistics and social justice language education. She has published in Language Teaching, Intercultural Pragmatics, Teaching and Teacher Education, Journal of Language Identity and Education, System, TESOL Quarterly, and Language and Intercultural Communication.
Steve Brown started his teaching career in 1993 as a volunteer in Mongolia. He then moved to the private ELT sector and spent several years in a range of teaching, teacher training and management roles in Romania, Czech Republic, Hungary and South Africa. In 2001 he returned to the UK to complete an MSc in applied linguistics before spending more than 15 years in the Scottish Further Education sector, working with migrant learners in the Glasgow area. This involved various teaching, teacher education and leadership duties, as well as qualification development roles with the Scottish Qualification Authority. Dr. Brown also spent a year with the British Council in Malaysia in 2011-12, where he worked as a teacher trainer. After completing his Doctorate in Education at the University of Glasgow, he moved into higher education, working as director of studies for English language, and programme leader for the MEd TESOL, at the University of the West of Scotland. He now works as a lecturer in TESOL at the University of Glasgow. Dr. Brown’s main research interests relate to curriculum development, materials design and the emancipatory potential of ELT. This includes a focus on teacher education and the role of higher education institutions in promoting social justice language education.
Servet Çelik is a Professor of English Language Teaching at Trabzon University, Türkiye. His research interests include teaching for diversity, intercultural awareness, and issues surrounding multilingualism and multiculturalism in pluralistic societies. He has published five edited books, twenty book chapters, and thirty-seven research articles, and widely presented at national and international conferences. Dr. Çelik currently serves as the executive co-editor of the international language journal Sustainable Multilingualism (ISSN 2335-2027) published by Sciendo.
Dr. Bilal Karaca is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English Language Teaching at Trabzon University, with specialized expertise in teacher education. His research focuses on language skills pedagogy, curriculum design, and the integration of technology within educational settings. Dr. Karaca has numerous publications in his field and is a frequent presenter at both national and international conferences, where he shares his research findings and contributes to advancements in language education.
Samina Rana is an Associate Professor at the Higher Education Department of Punjab, Pakistan, and a Ph.D. scholar. She served as academic coordinator for the English Access Microscholarship Program at Allama Iqbal Open University (2019-2023) and is an IVLP alumna (2019). With extensive pedagogical training from TESOL International, University of Baltimore, and RELO Pakistan, she has been an active TESOL/ELT presenter, thesis supervisor, and TEFL trainer. Rana earned a Chancellor Gold Medal in M.Phil. English from Riphah International University (2018) and has developed BS English textbooks for AIOU. A member of TESOL International since 2019, she actively engages in ESL/EFL action groups, advocates for inclusivity, and has led community-focused campaigns with the Red Crescent. She was named Local Peace Hero by RELO Pakistan in 2021.
Malik Ajmal Gulzar is an Associate Professor of English Language and Applied Linguistics at Allama Iqbal Open University in Pakistan. He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics, along with MA degrees in TEFL and English Literature, and a certificate in Teaching EFL with New Technologies from Brighton University, UK. He has authored three books and 48 research articles published nationally and internationally. With 26 years of experience teaching English at various levels, he has designed curricula and teacher development courses for AIOU, Pakistan, and Taif University, KSA. His research interests include ELT in bilingual/multilingual contexts, language policy, error analysis, language change, teacher development, discourse studies, and curriculum design. He is also a member of SPELT and PAK ELT Forum.
Shahabullah has an M.Phil. in Applied Linguistics from Hazara University, Mansehra, and is currently serving as lecturer in the Department of English at Abbottabad University of Science and Technology, Havellian, District Abbottabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Pakistan. He has previously worked as an instructor for the English Access Microscholarship Program at the University of Buner (Pakistan) and has also served as the coordinator (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter) of PakTESOL for three years. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Applied Linguistics from Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad. Shahabullah has undergone extensive professional trainings through programs such as ELT Action Group, RELO, TESOL International, FLI, E-Courses, and AE webinars. He has also attended and presented papers in various national and international conference. His research interests include Phonetics and Phonology, Sociolinguistics, Pragmatics, SLA, ELT and Discourse Analysis. He has published fourteen research papers in different national and international journals.
Aiman Jamilah Abdul Rahman is a doctoral student in TESOL Research at the University of Stirling in the UK, where she also received her master’s degree. Prior to her postgraduate studies, she gained experience as an English tutor and Education content creator in Malaysia. She earned a Cambridge CELTA certification at International House Izmir in Türkiye and a BS in Business Administration from Marquette University in the USA, majoring in Business Economics and Information Technology. She is also a recipient of the Inspirational Women Awards 2024 by the University of Stirling Students’ Union for Widening Access in Education.
